Ms. Kawawaki is the Senior Advisor Central West Department since Feb 2021. She looks after the 10 countries in the region. Previously she was Deputy Director General of the Southeast Asia Department (SERD) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) from July 2017. From large road and infrastructure projects to education and rural development projects, ADB has been a partner to developing member countries for over 50 years. ADB is working with our countries to incorporate digital and advanced technology solutions to improve the lives better, cheaper and greener. Innovative solutions are being piloted especially in building back better due to COVID-19. Ms. Kawawaki was the Director, Energy Division of the Central and West Asia Department. Ms. Kawawaki has been with ADB since 2000. Prior to ADB, she was with the Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. for over a decade.
