Brent Edelman is an independent consultant whose most recent work includes advising the US Agency for International Development (USAID) on its activities and strategies in the Pacific Islands Region, the Philippines, and Mongolia. Before that, Brent served as the economic growth advisor at USAID/Georgia and USAID/Sri Lanka & Maldives, with his work focused on designing and managing economic competitiveness activities.  Prior to working at USAID, Brent researched trade policy and agricultural commodity markets at the International Food Policy Research Institute in Malawi, taught economics and researched investment climate reform at the Rabat School of Economics and Governance in Morocco, studied urban poverty as a US Boren Fellow in India, and was a US Peace Corps volunteer in Uzbekistan.  Brent holds a Ph.D. and MA in Economics from Temple University and a BA in Economics from Boston University.
