Bregje van Wesenbeeck

Dr.van Wesenbeeck chairs the science council of Deltaresthat oversees the scientific quality of the work of Deltares. She is a senior expert in nature-based Solutions (NbS) for climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction.

She has over 15 years of experience working in multicultural settings for national governments and development banks, the United Nations and nongovernment organizations in Asia, Africa, the United States, and the Netherlands.

Dr.van Wesenbeeckprovides advice on coastal zone management, flood risk reduction, ecosystem management, and climate change adaptation. She wrote guidelines for the implementation of NbSfor flood risk reduction for the World Bank and on Natural River Management (NRM) for the ADB.
