Profile / Bio: 

Mr. Anil Kumar BH joined the Indian Administrative Service as a commissioned officer in 1987. In his career spanning 32 years, he has held several posts within the State Government of Karnataka and at the Government of India. Some of his previous positions included Executive Director of National Institute of Disaster Management, Joint Secretary Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises under the Govrnment of India; and Principal Secretary of Minority Welfare Commissioner of Food and Social Welfare Department, Managing Director of Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd, Karnataka SC/ST Development Corporation LTD , and Mysore Paper Mills Ltd under the Government of Karnataka, to name a few. He is currently the Commissioner of Bruhath Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike or Greater Bangalore Municipal Corporation with the rank of Additional Chief Secretary. 

As the Chief Executive Officer of the the fifth largest urban agglomeration in India and with a population of 13 Million people, Commissioner Anil Kumar’s focus is on improving the quality of life in the City of Bengaluru, which is called the Silicon Valley of the East. Areas of focus are: “improving pedestrian infrastructure in the city for non-motorized mobility, improving the surface water and storm water management, integrated solid waste management and managing the natural system of lakes in the city." To make the city an International city by the year 2050 a “Vision 2050” road map with an implementation plan is being envisaged.
