Profile / Bio: 

Arin Dutta is a Senior Health Specialist at ADB. He is a health economist who has worked extensively on health sector reform and health financing, especially on the scale-up of health insurance schemes. Before ADB, he was the corporate lead for a USAID-funded project on health sector reform in the Philippines, technical director on health financing for a USAID-funded global health project, as well as team lead for innovative financing for social protection activity in Asia. He has experience in primary care and human resources for health, with a focus on infectious disease and maternal/reproductive health financing. Previously, he worked at Palladium and Abt Associates, both USAID implementer organizations, as well as the Clinton Foundation, RAND, and the World Bank. He has a PhD in Policy Analysis, with a focus on HIV and pandemic influenza economics, a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford, and BA Economics from the University of Delhi.
