Anqian has been developing sustainable and innovative financial solutions to tackle climate change issues in East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific regions. He has worked with government agencies and public/private sector financial institutions in countries such as the People's Republic of China;India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan; Indonesia, Thailand, Laos; Fiji Islands, Samoa, and Tonga. Anqian has led a number of financial sector development projects in green finance, blue finance, renewable energy, and sustainable infrastructure, including two $500 million multi-tranche financing facilities.Before joining the Asian Development Bank, Anqian also worked for the International Finance Corporation in La Paz, Bolivia. He holds a Master of Arts degree with distinction in International Economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, both in the United States.
