Anabel Marin

Senior Research Fellow, Institute of Development Studies
Profile / Bio

Anabel Marin is a specialist in critical minerals, resource governance and sustainable development — economic, social and environmental. Her work spans Latin America, Africa and Asia, combining academic research with direct policy engagement for governments, development banks and international organisations, including ADB, IDB, World Bank, UNCTAD and ECLAC.

She publishes widely for academic and non-academic audiences, advises international organisations and national governments, works with communities in mineral-rich regions, and supervises doctoral students across three continents.

She is currently building the Centre for Critical Minerals and Development (CCMD) — a new international knowledge centre to support Southern-led, policy-relevant research on how critical minerals can become a genuine platform for sustainable development.
