Research Fellow, Griffiths University Profile / Bio Profile / Bio Amy specializes in violence prevention, including child rights, gender-based violence, and domestic and family violence. With over a decade of experience, Amy has led numerous projects aimed at understanding and preventing violence. Her work includes examining the intersections of forced labor and migration due to climate change, particularly focusing on the experiences of women and children in vulnerable areas. She has also been involved in developing community responses to domestic and family violence, working with local leaders to empower communities and create sustainable prevention strategies. She holds a PhD in Social Work from Griffith University, where her research focused on child participation and wellbeing in Brunei Darussalam. Amy has been a member of the Griffith Asia Institute and the Griffith Criminology Institute, contributing to various interdisciplinary research projects. Amy's expertise extends to innovative responses to domestic violence, including working with men who use violence and developing tools like the "Be there" app to support victims. Her advocacy for violence prevention and her commitment to amplifying the voices of underrepresented groups have made significant impacts in the field.
