
Alok Kumar is a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1993 batch (Uttar Pradesh cadre) with over 30 years of experience in governance, policy implementation, and institutional reforms. He is currently serving as the Principal Secretary, MSME & Export Promotion, Infrastructure & Industrial Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
A recognized thought leader in health systems design and social sector policy, he has played a key role in shaping India’s healthcare landscape. During his tenure as Advisor (Social Sectors) at NITI Aayog, he was instrumental in driving policy reforms in public health, medical education, and health financing at the national level. His deep expertise spans policymaking, execution, and academia, having also served as a faculty member at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration.
