Indonesia Development Talks (IDT) 23rd Edition: Mobilizing Capital for Local Government Finance
13 April 2026
How can local governments unlock new sources of financing for sustainable development? The 23rd Indonesia Development Talks explored the role of green, social, and sustainability (GSS+) bonds in strengthening municipal finance, alongside the launch of the report Mobilizing Capital for Local Government Finance in Asia and the Pacific Through Green, Social, and Sustainability Bond Markets. Developed with support from the ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance Facility under the GSS+ Initiative, and with contributions from the Green Climate Fund, the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and the PRC Poverty Reduction and Regional Cooperation Fund, the report provided practical insights on building bankable project pipelines and expanding access to capital markets.

Hosted by the Asian Development Bank, through its Indonesia Resident Mission, in partnership with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, the webinar brought together policymakers and experts to share real-world perspectives on scaling sustainable local government finance.
