Ms. Laura Iglesias has nearly 30 years of business development experience, with specialization in bilateral and multilateral donor-funded architecture & engineering (A&E) projects in developing and transitional countries. With a 25-year tenure of work experience supporting international operations for CDM Smith (www.cdmsmith.com), a privately owned engineering and construction firm providing legendary client service and smart solutions in water, environment, transportation, energy and facilities, Laura applies her diverse experience in marketing, strategic capture planning and business development to CDM Smith’s diverse consulting and infrastructure activities in locations worldwide, with an emphasis on creative and innovative project solutions.
Laura’s current role at CDM Smith is Client Service Leader for U.S. Government funded development projects (USAID, MCC, etc.) in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, and also supports business development for Asian Development Bank. In the Asia region currently, Laura supports active business development activities in Pakistan, Nepal, Indonesia, and prospective work in Bangladesh, Philippines, and Central Asia. CDM Smith’s focus sectors and services in these locations include WASH, integrated water resources management, climate change, environmental management, transport, vertical structures, solid waste management and energy, across the entire scope of engineering and consulting services: technical assistance, planning, design, construction supervision and construction. Laura leads client relationship management with Washington, DC- and internationally-based clients, local government stakeholders, and teaming partners; develops regional sales strategies; identifies new business opportunities; engages in project negotiations; and directs project staffing and recruiting processes.
