Prof. Bakhadir Suyunovich Mirzaev is the rector of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers National Research University (TIIAME NRU). He was appointed to the position in 2019 and is the first rector of the university since it was granted national research university status.
Mirzaev is a highly accomplished engineer and academic. He holds a Ph.D. in Technical Sciences and is a professor of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering. He has over 30 years of experience in the field of water resources management and has worked in both research and teaching capacities.
Before becoming rector, Mirzaev served as the dean of the Faculty of Hydrotechnical Constructions at TIIAME NRU. He has also held positions as the head of the Department of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering and the vice-rector for Academic Affairs.
Under Mirzaev's leadership, TIIAME NRU has become a leading university in the field of water resources management. The university has established strong partnerships with international universities and research organizations, and its graduates are in high demand by employers.
