Pierpaolo Cazzola is currently working as an independent expert with the Institute of Transportation Studies in Davis, at the University of California, on the establishment of a new European Research Centre. I am also collaborating with Columbia University on topics that lie at the intersection of transport, energy, technology and climate action.
Prior to this, He was Advisor on energy, technology and environmental sustainability at the International Transport Forum and I coordinated the work of a group of analyst on issues related to energy, transportation and environment at the International Energy Agency (IEA). I also worked for the United Nations as Secretary of the Working Party on Pollution and Energy of the World Forum for the Harmonisation of Vehicle Regulations, in the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, and in the Environment Directorate of the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). I began my professional career at the IEA, working first on energy balances and the estimation of CO2 emissions from fuel combustion and then getting into transport and energy as the main developer of the Mobility Model.
