Lorena Santamaria is sustainable development and climate international cooperation professional. Since 2018, Lorena is part of the WMO Development Partnerships Office where she has co-led the creation of the Alliance for Hydromet Development and the Systematic Observations Financing Facility.
Before joining WMO, Ms. Santamaria was part of the World Bank Climate team, contributing to mainstreaming climate considerations in all World Bank operations, and later joined the UNCCD where she contributed to the creation of the Land Degradation Neutrality Fund and the implementation of SDG target 15.3 across the world.
Ms. Santamaria worked for five years for the Colombian National Climate Office where she contributed to the implementation of the National Adaptation Policy, including as a Member of the Colombian delegation to the UNFCCC.
