The Resident Registration System in Korea plays a huge role in the provision of government support and services in the country. At birth, infants are provided with a national ID number, which begins a life cycle-based provision of support and services, from birth to old age. This system has not only facilitated flow of support, it has also significantly reduced paperwork and costs in government offices.
