The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) is Pakistan's social safety net. It maintains a database of the socio-economic status of the country's population using techology-based operations. It provides cash grants to about 5.3 million beneficiaries using various payment schemes, such as through post, debit cards, mobile phone banking, smart cards, and biometric verification systems. This presentation shares the challenges BISP met in implementing automated cash grants transactions using a unique ID system.
