RMI: Marine Water Quality Regulations 1991

The purpose of these regulations is to identify the uses for which the marine waters of the Republic of the Marshall Islands shall be maintained and protected, to specify the water quality standards required to maintain· the designated uses, and to prescribe regulations necessary for implementing, achieving and maintaining the specified marine water quality.

Further, these regulations are designed to maintain and upgrade the quality of the marine waters of the Republic of the Marshall Islands in order to protect health, safety, and welfare, and to assure that no pollutants are discharged into these waters without being given the degree of treatment or control necessary to prevent pollution.
