Asia and the Pacific faces a critical juncture as rising protectionism, geopolitical tensions, stagnating productivity, and escalating transboundary challenges put pressure on regional cooperation and integration. In March 2026, ADB approved the Operational Approach for Revitalizing Regional Cooperation and Integration to boost productivity through economic integration and inclusion and strengthen resilience by addressing interdependence risks and transboundary vulnerabilities.

The 2026 RCI Conference will formally launch and disseminate the Operational Approach to key stakeholders from ADB’s developing member countries, development partners, international organizations, and the private sector. It will gather views on priorities, resources, and collaborative efforts needed for implementation and explore potential partnerships.

The conference will also stimulate dialogue on how deeper regional cooperation and economic integration can help Asia and the Pacific navigate an evolving geopolitical landscape while advancing a greener, more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient region.
