Enhancing Road Network Resilience Through Road Maintenance

29 February 2024
For many developing member countries (DMCs), a greater focus on road networks’ routine maintenance activities would likely deliver a higher return on investment than significant investment in new infrastructure. Many road networks are not resilient to today’s climatic conditions, due to a lack of focus on essential management and maintenance activities.
This webinar discussed practical actions that can be implemented into road projects to enhance the resilience of road networks, whether that be through force account or outsourced contract models.  The speakers—with extensive international experience, co-authored technical guides on road management and maintenance, along with climate resilience and adaptation initiatives—will examine the issue from both the management and practitioner aspects in this session.
