Digitally Driven Development (3D) South Asia - The World Emissions Clock: Using Data Visualization to Inform Climate Action in South Asia

17 August 2023

A growing number of countries, especially in Asia, are using data to design policies, respond to crises, and model future scenarios. Given its growing importance for informing decision-making, having accurate, high-quality, and trustworthy data is more crucial than ever.

This knowledge sharing session organized by the South Asia Regional Department (SARD) showcased World Data Lab’s recently released World Emissions Clock, which tracks and forecasts emissions data. The tool offers granular breakdowns on geography, sectors, subsectors, and projections under multiple scenarios. The World Emissions Clock is a powerful tool for tracking where vulnerability to climate risks is most pointed. It also underscores the crucial role of data analysis in identifying innovative development solutions.
