World of Water Operators Partnerships: What Is It, Why it Works, and What’s Ahead
Learn about water operators from ADB’s developing member countries from a different perspective—not as clients but as public servants striving to give the best service to their customers. More specifically, find out what are their struggles and aspirations, their pride in what they do, and how they look up to other water operators in the world to improve their services.
ADB’s Vijay Padmanabhan, Christopher Moster, and Anna Romelyn Almario in this learning event talked about the Water Operators Partnerships (WOPs) Program—why it works, what it currently undertakes, and what it will be and the plans on expanding it. They discussed how this small-scale program has scored big in many parts of Asia and the Pacific. From addressing water losses to planning for sanitation projects to business plans preparations, the WOPs Program has helped many operators grow within their limited conditions. Most importantly, it has helped deliver projects in a more sustainable manner.
