ADB’s Development Effectiveness in 2020: Responding to the COVID-19 Pandemic (Europe)

30 June 2021

How has the Asian Development Bank (ADB) responded to the human and economic challenges triggered by the COVID 19 pandemic?

This event was an interactive discussion of the 2020 Development Effectiveness review, a reflection on ADB’s efforts to achieve the priorities set out in its corporate Strategy 2030 through its operations. Developing countries in Asia and the Pacific face increasing poverty and inequality, and new challenges and opportunities for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through green, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable COVID-19 recovery.

The discussion focused on ADB’s achievements in 2020, and its efforts to swiftly meet its clients' COVID-19 response needs while supporting long-term strategic priorities including climate change, gender equality, and the needs of the poorest people and countries in the region.
