Profile / Bio: 

Dr. Sheeba Harma is the Regional Gender Adviser for UNICEF in Europe and Central Asia based in Geneva, Switzerland. Her portfolio covers leading and advising 22 countries in the region towards the integration of gender in all aspects of Adolescent Health and Nutrition, Girls Education and Skills, GBV in Refugee Migrant Response and Child Protection, Social Policy, Early Childhood Development, Addressing Gender Socialization, Responsive Parenting, Harmful Norm and Practices, as well as enhancing institutional accountability, programme planning, partnerships, evidence generation to advance gender equality outcomes.

She has also worked for UNICEF in South Asia as Regional Gender Adviser and has prior to joining UNICEF held various senior management positions in Afghanistan leading the organizational reform of the Afghan Women’s Ministry, implementation of the National Development Strategies, managing Access to Justice, Women’s Safe Shelters, Girls Education and Women Empowerment initiatives across the country. Close to 20 years of her career also spans development and humanitarian programming experience supporting countries in South East Asia and the West African region
