Michael Stahl is a consultant for ADB, working on National Health Identifiers and registration systems in the Greater Mekong Subregion. He did several stock taking missions on available Identification mechanisms and registries in the health sector for citizens in Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Nepal and Vietnam. In recent years, he supported various governments in their approach towards less data fragmentation in the health sector by linking available patient registries. Prior to his assignment with ADB, he was a permanent advisor for the National Social Security Fund in Cambodia on the design and implementation of the Public Health Insurance Scheme for the formal sector workers.
Michael has more than two decades of experience in the area of Social Health Insurance and IT process development and has been fostering change management in social health protection institutions in several Southeast Asian countries.
