Profile / Bio: 

Qi Jiuhong, a Chinese national, holds a degree from the Chinese Language and Literature Department of Beijing Normal University. He is director of research department of the China Beijing Environmental Exchange, specializing in the areas of climate policy and low carbon development, mechanism design of carbon market, carbon finance, etc.

He was the project leader of Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission’s “Research and Development of Carbon Sink Trading Mechanism in Beijing”; “Study on Path of Carbon Market Development in Beijing” and “Construction of Carbon Futures and Carbon Finance Market in Beijing” supported by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Financial Work.

He was the project manager of two ADB-supported projects: “Study on Beijing Green Finance Development Strategy” and “Market-based Eco-compensation Mechanism in Beijing.”

Qi also served as team leader of the “Study on Beijing Carbon Finance Market Promotion Mechanism” supported by GEF and the World Bank; and the project coordinator of the Strategic Prosperity Fund of UK’s “Study on Carbon Trading Scheme for Large-Scale Buildings and its Application in Beijing Municipality.”
