Profile / Bio: 

Mr. James Leten is an institutional and IWRM expert leading the “Regional Capacity Building Programme on Promoting Water Integrity in Sub-Saharan Africa” under the UNDP-Water Governance Facility at SIWI (WGF) since September 2011. He coordinates the water integrity promotion and capacity-building activities at WGF and provides applied research and advisory services in the areas of water governance performance and institutional strengthening. For over a decade, he has been working with diverse policy and strategy development activities and institutional reforms of the water sector in Africa. In his work, he strives to maximise the internalisation (institutionally and financially) of the anthropogenic impacts on ecosystems into communities’ development plans, based upon the values of equity and maintenance of environmental capital.  He’s particularity interested in stakeholder mobilisation and participation in integrated management, as well as in understanding what can drive the required collective actions in IWRM and Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM). ​
