Dr. Jadej Thammatacharee is the Deputy Secretary-General of the National Health Security Office (NHSO) in Thailand.  NHSO is an independent organization of the Ministry of Public Health responsible for the Universal Health Coverage Scheme (UCS) for 75% of the Thai population.

He graduated Medical Doctor from Chulalongkorn University in 1990 and has a Master in Business Administration degree from Thammasat University Thailand in 1997. He worked as a director in community hospital for eleven years before moving to work at NHSO. After four years working at NHSO, he obtained the European Union Scholarship to study PhD in Health Policy at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) during 2006-2009.

When Thailand implemented the UCS in 2001, he was the Director of Bureau of General Administration responsible for setting up various administration systems such as human resource, procurement etc. In 2013, he was appointed as the Chairman of policy and evaluation cluster responsible for planning budget, policy implementation, implementing new benefit package, monitoring and evaluation of UCS.
