Each year, around 1.18 million deaths and millions of road accident-related accidents are recorded globally and most of these happen in Asia. Solutions that promote road safety are needed as this alarming number also has a serious economic impact. Even the Sustainable Development Goals recognize this by including it under Target 3.6: "By 2020, halve the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents”.
This ADB brownbag session puts spotlight on Tajikistan's journey towards safer roads and how the government works with ADB and other stakeholders in implementing its National Road Safety Improvement Program.
