Discover how Lao PDR is improving quality of care to achieve better health outcomes.

As countries in the Asia-Pacific region strive to achieve universal health coverage, removing financial barriers to health care is fundamental yet not sufficient. Utilization of health services and the achievement of health outcomes strongly depends on the quality of care provided. This lecture explored conceptual models and tools for quality improvement. A case study on Lao PDR looked into the country’s current efforts to improve quality and suggest how ADB can further support Lao PDR as it rolls out national health insurance. The lecture is part of Health Talks, an ADB in-house lecture series organized by the Health Sector Group.
