European Central Bank's Macro-Financial Linkages Division deputy head Reiner Martin presented the institutional framework for macroprudential policy in the European Union (EU), focusing on the euro area and covering risk surveillance and assessment, policy design, and policy implementation. He reviewed EU's recent macroprudential policy experience before and after the start of the Single Supervision Mechanism.
